Welcome to the tenth issue of “Fenice Scuol@Europa News”. Our newsletter addresses anyone who is interested in European Projects, but in particular those people who are interested in the themes these projects deal with.
This issue describes the projects FENICE is involved in as a promoter and the products developed by transnational partnerships, with the support of the European Commission, within the framework of the Lifelong Learning Programme.
We hope that this issue will help to promote these results, materials and methods to a wider audience, and it will encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences as well.
First we would like to tell you who we are in the hope that we may start a productive collaboration.
Our association Federazione Nazionale Insegnanti Centro di iniziativa per l’Europa aims at improving the professional characteristics of teachers and the standards of state schools and at enhancing democratic reforms. The association tackles the political, social and cultural problems connected to the school world, the teaching job and the professional growth of teachers.
FENICE publishes also a paper magazine called Scuol@Europa issued only in its Italian version. The newsletter is published, instead, in three languages and sent three times a year as an html-formatted e-mail, displaying news in short with links to the FENICE website and to the relating project websites, where full access to the relevant articles or documents is provided. Competences in e-Learning and Certification In
Tourism (
In preparation a training course
The project aims at developing the European dimension of the trainers’ training and at reducing the gap between school education and labour market, in particular in the tourist sector. To achieve this aim the institutions of four countries (Italy, Lithuania, Romania and Spain), with the coordination of Fenice, identified the requested skills needed by a modern “Agent for Local Tourism Development” (ALT) and defined a common frame of reference on which to structure the legal recognition of qualifications founded on well identified competences using “Descriptors defining levels in the European Qualifications Framework”. The course for training a “Tourist Development Agent” is addressed to people equipped with requirements at level 2 of the aforesaid Descriptors and having knowledge of English at intermediate level, economics, geography, basic tourism concepts and information technology.
The partners agreed on the characteristics of the ALT professional profile, on the language of the training course (English), its length (80 hours) and the contents of different modules of the course. At the moment most of the contents of the e-learning course are inserted on the chosen web platform Docebo, hosted in the Fenice web site.
As for the future steps; the partners have also decided that before the next meeting in March 2008, in order to start with the pilot phase, each partner will prepare drafts of tests on the chosen modules, will review and compare materials, making all the needed modification and will implement the materials on the web based platform.
This project places itself in a larger framework of FENICE’ initiatives (including two Mobility Projects) with the aim at creating a permanent network of different bodies (especially in Eastern Europe) able to create a Portal for the training in e-learning modality of new vocational figures in the tourist field. At the end of this project the partners having the suitable structures will organise the courses in their countries and will guarantee the tutorship during the course.

To teach French as a foreign language using theatrical techniques
An in-service training course within Comenius programme
In order to spread a new methodology in teaching-learning French as a foreign language FENICE has organized three workshops in the 2008 within the framework of the Comenius & Grundtvig programmes In-service training Action. The workshops aim at proposing an alternative method in the teaching of the subject “Foreign language: French” using theatrical techniques, widely used in other fields in order to obtain active participation by the students with the use of learning strategies excluded from current practice. In brief experimenting innovating techniques which may help improve teaching and have a positive influence on learning.
The title of the workshops is “Formation aux techniques théâtrales à l’usage des enseignants de FLE”. During the workshop we will use the products of a previous Lingua 2 project called «Le Français par les techniques théâtrales». The innovative aspects of this project consist in the fact that all the activities proposed in the teaching units consider the pupil as a person endowed with a body, a voice and an inner world. These teaching techniques want to involve the world of emotions, to change students’ intonations and speaking tunes, to work on proxemics, in a word to give the pupil the chance to be an ‘actor’ not in the meaning of ‘theatre actor’ but of ‘the person that acts’, ‘that does’ putting him in contact with the world of expression. Participation in our training workshop is 100% financed by the Comenius programme but first of all it is necessary to send us a pre-registration request (mailto info@fenice-eu.org). The interested people have to ask for the course’s scholarship from their LLP National Agency in order to get the application form in their own language. Then they must send it with our certificate to the agency’s mail address in order to get formal approval.

En préparation un cours de formation professionnelle
Ce projet vise à développer la dimension européenne de la formation des formateurs et à favoriser les liens entre la formation scolaire et le monde du travail, particulièrement dans le secteur touristique. Afin d’atteindre ce but, les partenaires de quatre pays (Italie, Lituanie, Roumanie et Espagne), coordonnés par Fenice, ont identifié les compétences nécessaires à la nouvelle figure professionnelle de «agent pour le développement touristique local» (ALT) et défini un cadre commun de référence pour la certification légale des qualifications (basé sur des compétences bien claires), utilisant a ce but les “Descripteurs des niveaux dans le Cadre Européenne des Qualifications”
Le cours de formation de ALT est adressé à personnes douées des qualités du niveau 2 des sous- dits descripteurs, d’une connaissance de la langue anglaise au niveau «Intermediate» et de connaissance de base dans le domaine de l’économie, de la géographie, du tourisme et de l’informatique. On a défini les caractéristiques de la nouvelle figure professionnelle de ALT, la langue du cours (anglais), la durée (80 heures) et les contenus des modules qui ont été presque tous insérés dans la plateforme web Docebo qui se trouve dans le site de la FENICE.
Avant Mars 2008 chaque partenaire achèvera l’écriture en anglais des modules du cours choisi, en les complétant avec les relatifs tests de contrôle, accompagnés d’une graphique opportune.
Ce projet fait partie d’une série d’initiatives de la Fenice (parmi lesquelles deux projets de mobilité) visant à la création d’un réseau permanent d’institutions dans les différents pays ( particulièrement à l’est de l’Europe) pour créer un Portail pour la formation en e-apprentissage de nouvelles figures professionnelles dans le secteur touristique. Après la création du Portail, les partenaires avec une structure appropriée pourront fournir ces cours dans leurs pays tout en assurant le tuteurage pendant les cours

Formation aux techniques théâtrales à l’usage des enseignants de FLE :
un atelier de formation continue dans le cadre du programme Comenius
Dans le cadre des actions adressées à expérimenter et diffuser des techniques didactiques innovantes qui contribuent à l’amélioration des systèmes d’instruction et qui agissent positivement sur les procès d’apprentissage des élèves, notre association organise, pour l’an 2008, trois ateliers de formation pour la diffusion des approches didactiques nouveaux du français langue étrangère, notamment de l’utilisation des techniques théâtrales en classe de FLE.
Ces ateliers, organisés dans le cadre du programme Comenius et Grundtvig de formation continue, dont le titre est : “Formation aux techniques théâtrales à l’usage des enseignants de FLE”, utiliseront les produits du projet Socrates Lingua 2 déjà réalisé, intitulé «Le Français par les techniques théâtrales».
Même si le domaine d’application c’est celui de l’enseignement du "Français Langue étrangère”, le projet a voulu rechercher des modèles de didactique qui, en se basant sur l’expérimentation de formes intégrées de communication (expression verbale, gestualité, implication émotive, emploi de technologies multimédiales), soient en effet applicables même dans d’autres contextes disciplinaires. Les aspects innovants du projet consistent dans le fait que toutes les activités proposées considèrent l’apprenant un individu à part entière, doté d’un corps, d’une voix et d’un monde intérieur. ayant recours à des techniques largement utilisées dans le théâtre. In preparazione il corso di formazione professionale
Il progetto si propone di sviluppare la dimensione europea nella formazione dei formatori e di promuovere l'avvicinamento della formazione scolastica al mondo del lavoro specificatamente nel settore turistico. Per raggiungere questo scopo i partner di quattro paesi (Italia, Lituania, Romania e Spagna), coordinati dalla Fenice, hanno individuato le abilità richieste ad un moderno “Agente per lo sviluppo Locale del Turismo” (ALT) e definito un quadro comune di riferimento nel quale strutturare il riconoscimento legale di qualifiche basato su ben identificate competenze, utilizzando allo scopo i “Descrittori dei livelli nel Quadro Europeo delle Qualifiche”
Il corso di formazione del suddetto Agente è rivolto a persone dotate di requisiti al livello 2 dei suddetti Descrittori, di una conoscenza della lingua inglese al livello “Intermediate” e di conoscenze di base nel campo dell’economia, della geografia, del turismo e dell’informatica. Sono state definite le caratteristiche del profilo professionale di ALT, la lingua del corso (inglese), la sua durata (80 ore) ed i contenuti dei vari moduli che sono stati quasi tutti inseriti nella piattaforma di e-learning Docebo che è ospitata nel sito della Fenice.
Entro il mese di marzo 2008 ogni partner completerà la scrittura in inglese dei moduli del corso da lui scelti corredandoli con i relativi test di verifica ed un’opportuna grafica.
Questo progetto si colloca in un più ampio quadro di iniziative intraprese dalla Fenice (tra le quali due progetti di mobilità) tendenti alla realizzazione di una rete permanente di istituzioni di vari paesi (in particolare dell’Est Europeo) al fine di realizzare un Portale per la formazione in modalità e-learning di nuove figure professionali nel settore turistico. Dopo la realizzazione del Portale, i partner dotati della struttura adeguata erogheranno nei rispettivi paesi i corsi assicurandone il tutoraggio.

Apprendere il francese come lingua straniera con l’aiuto di tecniche teatrali
Un corso di formazione in servizio
Nel quadro delle azioni volte a sperimentare tecniche didattiche innovative che contribuiscano al miglioramento dei sistemi di istruzione e, in particolare, agiscano positivamente sui processi di apprendimento degli alunni, la FENICE ha organizzato per l’anno 2008 tre corsi di formazione in servizio rivolti ad insegnanti e formatori e dedicati alla diffusione di un diverso approccio alla didattica del francese come lingua straniera basato sull’uso di tecniche teatrali nell’insegnamento/apprendimento
I corsi, dal titolo “Formation aux techniques théâtrales à l’usage des enseignants de FLE” utilizzeranno i materiali prodotti nell’ambito del progetto Socrates Lingua 2, denominato «Le Français par les techniques théâtrales». Pur se l'area di applicazione è quella della lingua straniera (il francese come lingua 2) questo progetto ha inteso ricercare modelli didattici che, basati sulla sperimentazione di forme integrate di comunicazione (espressione verbale, gestualità, coinvolgimento emotivo, impiego di tecnologie multimediali), siano di fatto applicabili anche in altri contesti disciplinari. L’obiettivo principale è il coinvolgimento del soggetto attraverso l’interazione della ragione e del sentimento nel percorso cognitivo, facendo ricorso a tecniche teatrali. L'agenzia Nazionale LLP (INDIRE) finanzia al 100% la partecipazione a corsi di formazione che si svolgono all'estero. Gli interessati devono richiedere alla FENICE (scrivendo a info@fenice-eu.org) l’attestato di preiscrizione e compilare il modulo on-line sul sito dell’INDIRE
